Travelling to Birmingham is simple. Located in the heart of England, the city is exceptionally well connected and easy to reach by road, rail and air.

Travelling to Birmingham by train is a straightforward; Birmingham has three city centre railway stations, the closest to the ICC being Birmingham New Street Station

Birmingham New Street Station connects with London’s Euston station and many other major towns and cities across the UK.

 

BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL STATION

Stationlink Road, National Exhibition Centre, B40 1PA

For those delegates who will fly, Birmingham International Station sits beside the airport and offers a 10-minute rail link directly to the city centre.

Trains from London Marylebone are served by Birmingham Moor Street Station (next to the Bullring Shopping Centre)

 

BIRMINGHAM SNOW HILL STATION

Trains from London Marylebone are served by Birmingham Snow Hill Station (in the Colmore Business District).

The city is served by Birmingham International Airport (BHX); with great transport links to the business and leisure travel infrastructure, it’s the easy gateway to Birmingham city centre and the Midlands region. Birmingham International Airport is only 10km from the city centre and is connected by rail, road and bus with a journey time of 30 minutes.

GETTING FROM BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT TO THE CITY CENTRE

The quickest and most direct route to Birmingham city centre, is by train from Birmingham International. The Airport provides a free and rapid monorail link from terminal to train, for onward travel to the city centre and the ICC.

Birmingham International is connected to the intercity rail network with fast and frequent services to London and many other UK major cities.

Taking the bus from Birmingham International will take approximately 30 minutes on the 900 bus service.

Long distance coaches, including National Express and Megabus, are also available at the airport for onward journeys across the UK.

Taxi fares from Birmingham International Airport can be booked online in advance here  and will cost approximately £40 one way.

The ICC is located in the centre of Birmingham.

The ICC can be accessed via the M6 Junction 6  then A38M, M5 Jct 3 then A456 or M42 merging onto the M6, the ICC is signposted from the A38(M).

Delegates arriving by car will need to be aware of Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone. The ICC and associated visitor car parks are located within this area. Daily charges apply to vehicles entering the zone which do not comply with the zone’s criteria.

All visitors who do not need a visa (except British and Irish citizens) will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) – a digital permission to travel to the UK.
 
An ETA costs £10 and permits multiple journeys to the UK of up to six months at a time over two years or until the holder’s passport expires – whichever is sooner.
